Rich Zins is a second generation banker and has had over 39 years in the business. Rich began his banking career in 1980 with Northwestern National Bank, (now Wells Fargo), in Great Falls, MT as a delinquent loan collector. While in Great Falls, he also held the positions of Real Estate Loan Officer and Installment Loan Officer. In 1986, he joined Alan Bradley at the Bitterroot Valley Bank, (now TrailWest Bank) as a Vice President, when the bank was $11MM in total assets, had one branch and 15 employees. He was later promoted to Executive Vice President and finally was promoted to his current position of President and CEO, overseeing an operation of over $600MM in total assets, 16 branches and 155 employees. Rich is also on the bank’s Board of Directors and Holding Company Board. He is a graduate of the University of Montana and the Pacific Coast Banking School. Rich is a past president of the Lolo Lions, UM Grizzly Scholarship Association, and Missoula RMA chapter. He also completed a seven year term on the Community Hospital Board of Directors, its Finance Committee, and was a member of the Loyola Sacred Heart School Board, serving as its Finance Council Chairman. He has served on numerous other volunteer boards, as well. Rich has been married for 38 years to his wife, Susan and is the proud father of two sons, Connor and Myer, who are also Officers and stockholders of TrailWest Bank.
